TFCU — The Filipino Channel University, launched in early 2016 held a successful talk event that prompted the development of this product.
In 2017, they needed a platform to host their inspirational and motivational content as well as provide information about their past, current, and upcoming events to their audience.
Release TFCU content regularly to gain online presence and traction. Create a central hub for TFCU content and events information.
Find and consume inspirational and motivational content from TFCU, its partners, and affiliates and get updated with their latest, past, and upcoming events.
We conducted user interviews with attendees to get more insights on what they would expect from a website about TFCU Talks.
Based on our preliminary user research, most of the potential users are mostly female students, from senior high school to college as well as some young professionals who are in their early careers.
We also created a persona for a potential sponsor based on some of TFC's current advertisers.
Lastly, another persona is created for a potential speaker or contributor for TFCU's content. This is based on one of the speakers from a past event.
The team underwent a 4-day design sprint to explore and understand the problem space of the product. At the end, the design was validated by 5 random users who represented our personas.
From the first 2 days of exploring and understanding, the UX team designed and prototyped the product to use for the usability test. We recruited 5 millennials referred to us by the stakeholders and using our make-shift lab, we recorded individual sessions. All the users tested the mobile version of the website.
The team proceeded to low fidelity and high fidelity compositions and visual designs. We started off with a base style guide and went from there. Mobile is still the first and primary base of this product.
The final designs for v1 were approved and prototyped for our engineering team.
The responsive website was released on February 2018:
3000 unique page visits in 21 days
Time on page for the homepage was around 2-3 minutes on the homepage
About 25% scroll through the very end of the homepage
In 2019, TFCU launched its internship program in partnership with The Filipino Channel (TFC) in Daly City, CA. It also began its re-brand as "Kollective Hustle."
